Strawberry also known as strawberry, from Dutch aardbei) is a strawberry varieties most widely known in the world. As with other species in the genus Fragaria (strawberry), fruit is in the family Rosaceae. In general, this fruit is not the fruit, but a false fruit, [1] meaning that the fruit does not come from the ovaries of plants (achenium) but from the bottom of the bowl-shaped hypanthium ovaries where the plant is located.
Ripe strawberries
Whitish green strawberry fruit while it is growing, and in most species turns red when ripe. Its name is derived from the Old English streawberige which is a combination of streaw or "straw" and berige or "berry". The reason of this naming is still not clear. Several species of Lepidoptera take food from plant sources of strawberries, making this species a major pest of strawberry plants.
